The design incorporates sustainable materials, vintage furniture, and found objects along with modern industrial features to create a relaxed innovative space — complete with multi-level gardens, library, and a theater.

A gut renovation of an historic New Orleans gem divides a traditional side-by-side shotgun house into a front-to-back house. A careful marriage of traditional New Orleans style with fresh modern minimalism makes the owner’s backyard-facing unit into a peaceful oasis. Though compact, the design maximizes the square footage to create the luxuries of a well-appointed home.
CREOLE COTTAGE + GARDEN

An exercise in the art of Wabi-Sabi, the redesign of this historic home leaves the rich tropical patina undisturbed while introducing modern conveniences. A dormer window in the upstairs master suite introduces light and air into a formerly dark attic and an updated master bath includes a glass enclosed steam room. A tropical garden divides the house from a small guest cottage in the back.
